Matthew A. Roberts, PhD, is Chief Scientific Officer of Food & Nutrition Innovations LLC. Matthew was formerly Chief Scientific Officer for NBTY Inc., a global manufacturer, marketer, distributor and retailer of vitamins and nutritional supplements. Prior to that he served as Divisional Vice President of Global Product Research and Development for Abbott Nutrition. Matthew has also spent more than 10 years with Nestle, where he was responsible for new product introductions, ventures, and major acquisitions. He has served on the Board of Vet Centric and was a member of the Nestle Purina Pet Care’s Global Strategic Business Unit. As a Ph.D. research scientist, he managed laboratories focused on life science research, bioanalytical methods development, genomics, proteomics, and nutritional discovery. He is the author of 34 peer-reviewed scientific publications, 11 professional publications, five patents, and the editor of two scientific books. Matthew has been a member of NCN’s Screening Committee since 2008.
