Bill’s collegiate years were spent at the Universities of Arizona and Nevada. He lettered in Baseball and Basketball, the sport in which he received All-American honors for the 1963/64 season and is in the Nevada Hall of Fame.
Captain Nicholson left the Air Force after two tours in Southeast Asia during which he flew over 300 combat missions. Then to Minneapolis, where he became Vice President of Marketing for a major developer and home builder. From Minneapolis, it was off to Washington D.C. for two and one-half years in The White House as Appointments Secretary to President Ford.
He was a principal investor in Swiftships, Inc. and ran that company for four years. Swiftships became the world’s largest manufacturer of custom high-speed aluminum vessels such as patrol boats and offshore oil field support vessels. Bill was COO of Amway Corporation for eight and one-half years during which time revenues rose by over 500%.
Bill maintains relationships with MD Anderson Cancer Center and Van Andel Institute.
