Michael Movitz

Michael Movitz has more than 28 years’ experience in the conscious and premium products industry. Michael’s tenure includes working with an independent natural products retailer, a natural products broker, the natural products division of the JM Smucker Company, and 16 years with SPINS, the leading provider of retail consumer insights, analytics and consulting for the Natural, Organic and Specialty Products Industry.

 

During his tenure at SPINS Michael advised leading and emerging brands on go to market strategies and product positioning, and held senior executive roles across strategic partnerships & business development, sales, sales operations, service management & marketing, and intellectual property asset development, as well as managed SPINS’ conventional market services partnership with The Nielsen Company for eight years, and later, IRI. Michael also led the co-creation of industry thought leadership insights and presented them at trade shows, conferences, and boards of director meetings.

 

Michael’s work today is focused on helping early stage brands raise capital and build revenue. Leveraging his industry knowledge and network, Michael formed The Movitz Group in 2016 to create a source for strategic advocacy – an authentic voice designed to foster the relationship between enterprise and humanity, driving the simultaneous progress of both as complements to each other.

 

To help companies raise capital, The Movitz Group conducts a deep review of financials from an investor perspective, helps identify the appropriate raise amount, form, and valuation, builds investor-centric pitch decks, and makes warm introductions to investors in its network.

 

The Movitz Group helps brands build revenue through using retail and consumer data to create crisp and compelling retail sales presentations, methodical sales and account plans and business plans, as well as guides a disciplined, differentiated, and creative go to market strategy that includes defining & validating strategies across product, consumer, commerce, pricing, and promotion platforms.

 

Michael currently sits on various boards of directors and advisory boards in the conscious products industry, as well as being a member of the board of directors for Congregation Beth Judea in the Chicago suburbs. Michael’s work is infused with thought leadership through the lens of the natural products industry, facts, and bold recommendations with conviction, inspiration and a touch of heart & soul.

 

Michael earned his degree from the University of Southern California School of Business Entrepreneur Program.
