Nutrition Capital Network Investor Meeting
held at SupplySide West

November 11, 1-5.30 pm

The Venetian & Sands Expo, Las Vegas

Meeting Summary
The mission of Nutrition Capital Network is to facilitate the connection of growth companies and entrepreneurs with capital sources and business partners. In this half-day event on November 11, 2009, 8-12 companies in nutrition ingredients, science, technology & marketing, sourced, screened and primed by Nutrition Capital Network, will present business plans at 15-minute intervals to an audience of 40-50 investors.

After the presentations, investors and companies will have the opportunity to network or meet one-on-one for private meetings. This half-day event is followed by the SupplySide West 2009 Manufacturer's Welcome Reception.

Companies looking for capital and desiring to present at NCN Investor Meeting must complete an application. The application process is free and all applicants will receive feedback from the selection committee. Accepted companies must pay a $700 registration fee to present at the meeting, allowing two company representatives to attend and participate in the meeting.

Presenting Companies
Presenting companies will be representative of the following segments: suppliers of active ingredients for supplements or functional foods; value-added suppliers of products or services related to nutrition, nutrition science or health & wellness; developers of technology or science related to nutrition and human health. (See Criteria page for NCN’s list of characteristics that investors find most attractive.)

Presenting companies will be a mix of firms in the following stages:

Advanced Stage: Companies that have established revenue, growth and profitability history. Revenues of $20-$100 million or higher and looking for capital for major initiatives, growth, globalization or acquisitions. Investments of $10-50 million usually sought.

Second Round or Later Stage: Companies that have already raised structured capital, with revenues of $5 million or higher and looking for growth capital. Investments of $5-20 million usually sought.

Companies presenting at NCN Investor Meeting will be professionally screened by Nutrition Capital Network. NCN principals and selection committee members each have over a decade of experience in the nutrition or natural products industry. NCN’s rigorous screening process ensures that only the highest quality companies make the cut to present at the NCN Investor Meeting.

NCN’s meeting cycles typically review 70-90 business plans for its semi-annual meetings and 40-50 qualified applicants are expected for the NCN Investor Meeting held in cooperation with SupplySide West.

NCN investors typically include private equity funds, venture capital firms, angel investors and the venture, corporate development or innovation groups of large consumer product, food and pharmaceutical supply companies. SupplySide West investors will likely also include the larger multi-national ingredient supply companies. Registering investor attendees are verified to make sure they are legitimate investors or potential strategic partners, and not possible competitors of the presenters or service providers.
