On the morning of Wednesday, October 21, companies sourced and primed by Nutrition Capital Network will present business plans at 10-minute intervals to an audience of investors. After lunch, investors and companies will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one in breakout sessions. This day-long event is preceded by a Reception and Dinner on Tuesday, October 20 (included in the cost registration).

NCN V features presenting companies from the nutrition industry including dietary supplements, natural & organic foods, functional foods, ingredients & technology, natural & organic personal care and household goods, and other health & wellness categories. The free application and review process for NCN V is open up to the end of September 2009. with a two-stage review process by the NCN V Selection Committee. In rare exceptions, companies may be considered when referred personally to an NCN member as close as two weeks prior to the event.

Companies presenting at NCN V will be professionally screened by Nutrition Capital Network. NCN principals and selection committee members each have over a decade of experience in the nutrition or natural products industry. NCN’s meeting cycles typically review 80-100 business plans for its semi-annual meetings to select the top 20-25 and each selected company is mentored and rehearsed prior to the meeting by NCN.

Presenting companies are expected to be representative of opportunities in the following stages:

Advanced Stage: Companies that have established revenue, growth and profitability history. Revenues of $20-$100 million or higher and looking for capital for major initiatives, growth, globalization or acquisitions. Investments of $10-50 million usually sought.

Second Round or Later Stage: Companies that have already raised structured capital, with revenues of $5 million or higher and looking for growth capital. Investments of $5-20 million usually sought.

First Round: Typically companies beyond proof of concept with revenues of $1-5 million and raising outside or professional capital for the first time. Investments of $2-5 million usually sought.

Start-Ups: Companies engaged in proof-of-concept or "pre-revenue", typically bootstrapped or funded by family and friends and now ready for angel or early-stage venture financing. Revenues typically less than $1 million and seeking investment of $500,000 to $2 million. Click here to apply.
